Maroon-Bellied Conure
Hello!

I just wanted to introduce Cookie and Mochi as well as having a picture of a marooned bellied conure beside a pineapple gcc. That being said... are gcc's usually that big? I've had my cinnamon gcc for a few years now and she is only 3/4 of Mochi's size. Is it possible that for GCC and other conures to cross breed?

The thing is is that Pumpkin (my cinnamon gcc) has always been small, and when i had a small health scare two years ago when one of my cockatiel had suddenly passed, i constantly weighed her every other day and for two whole months she constantly showed a lower than average weight to what i saw online. It is incredibly hard to get a picture of all three conures together because everyone is still territorial and Cookie & Mochi are still relatively the new birds of my flock.

So i'm just wondering what you guys think about Mochi as well as what you guys think about Pumpkin?

diet: pelllets/some seeds/veggies/hard boiled eggs/fruits

I'll try to get a comparison picture between Mochi and Pumpkin
Thank you for viewing!

for a GCC sems like 60-70g is ideal.....Feathers look like fluff to me but keeping track of weight not a bad idea.

What is the weight?
Pictures look normal to me.
My first GCC was a runt baby, and yours looks much larger than my runty girl.
My current GCC Ta-dah was 64 grams when sick, is now 70-74 grams , she fkuxs between those weights .

ok 60-75 grams

gram scales on amazon like 17 dollars....always good for a parrot owner to have

ok 60-75 grams

You made me chuckle! Ha!
Ta-dah us not chubby, she is lean, and she is not large. So I guess it's because she flys all day, and has good muscle that puts her on your heavier end. Lol

Conure hybirds are possible but your aren't. From Parrots.org:
GCC:
Size:
26cm (10.1 in)
Weight:
60-80g (2.1-2.8 oz)
Maroon bellied conure:

Size:
26cm (10.1 in)
Weight:
72-94g (2.5-3.3 oz)
I wouldn't be worry, some birds are smaller than normal. For example basing on Internet both Bourkes and budgies are about 19 cm but on this photo you can see how different are my ones:
file.php

The smallest of them is Romek (green budgie) and the biggest is Jas (Bourke next to Romek)

Ah! ok! thank you everyone for your replies! I guess she is a little runt! when everyone is all friendly i will post a picture! <3 Thank you!

Adorable birds! I have a GCC that weighs a massive 89g, but doesn’t feel fat at all according to my avian vet. She’s an avid flier and almost a full head taller my pineapple GCCs. My pineapple GCCs are 69g and 72g and much smaller than Tango.
