I made a salad and baked potatoes tonight for dinner since it was just way to hot to even think about using the stove. I figured I'd let Ducati try some potato and see if he likes it. I offered him a piece after he saw me eating some and no go. So I ate that piece to show him how good it was and offered another piece. He screamed like a little girl and ran away. Then just stares at me, "Why would you give me the same thing? That's just rude!". I'm still giggling over it lol.

Reminds me of when I first got my eckie and I offered him a bite of a peach I was eating. He flew away and crapped. So then I cut some up thinking he'd be less scared if it were small.. but no. He angrily pecked it out of my hand. He still won't eat peaches. Weird bird -- they're my favourite!

Sootie is almost always afraid of new food. She was terrified of blueberries and now they're one of her favorites. I have to offer it to her and let her be afraid, then let her see me eating it and then just leave it somewhere within her reach and not acknowledge it or offer it again. Eventually she'll go over to it when she thinks I'm not looking and try it. Yesterday I caught her nibbling half a sugar snap pea on the back of the sofa she'd been too frightened to eat an hour earlier. They're so weird with their little habits!

What kind of potato was it? I ask because Larry would not eat russett, but he did try some red potatoes and another time sweet potato.

Terry: Maybe he thought I was giving him a banana (he loves those) lol. Thanks. That was his name before we got him and we liked it so much we didn't want to change it.

MrsKay: It was a russet. I'll try different potatoes. He might like sweet potato since he seems to like the sweeter stuff. Maybe I'll make some homemade oven fries and see if he'll eat that.
