You can see her brand new flight feathers in these recent pictures. Now Air Traffic Control is going to need overtime pay!
Oh for sure! but ya know what? Air traffic control is paid enough with scritching Rico and hearing the song of his people.

But I can’t wait for cricket to be able to fly perfectly (she’s missing some flight feathers still, so her flight is rapid but her descends or stops are tricky) because just seeing her have the capability of flying across the room to the window or doing a small lap is incredible!

I always love seeing my birdies fly! Wingbeats are always such a happy sound!

Perhaps on the wall next to his cage?
That would get painted over within the next year. Once my brother moves out, I’m going to repaint my walls eventually.
Or on a piece of paper taped to the wall next to his cage?
that’d drive me nuts with how out of place it’d look! And Rico would find a way to eat it :(

I have pictures I like that Rocky insisted on making chads out of along the edges so I took clear packing tape and covered all four edges wrapped around both sides and she can no longer damage them.

I kinda like the color of your room. It has grown on me. Cricket looks very pretty against the pinkish purple color. What color are you going to paint it?

That’s pretty smart! Rico would eat the tape though. He has taken a few chunks out of my window frame like it was nothing.

I’m thinking like a pale green. Think like… mint green. Cricket and Rico would look amazing against it! And, it will go with most things in my room, considering everything can go with every color. Originally I was thinking honey yellow, but I was like “hmmm nah, that’d be an eyesore.”

Mint green nice. I would take photos of Cricket and use tech to sub in the new background color to make sure you like it first.

I have a vivid imagination, so I can imagine my room in mint green very well :)

Green is my favorite color. I miss it in the winter and early spring when the world outside is devoid of green. Everything is shades of gray from black to white except on a clear day when the sky is blue, but even then everything feels so cold. Probably because it IS cold. The only traces of warm tones are the browns of last year's oak leaves (which are nothing but a nuisance). Up here in Maine the trees don't begin leaf out and the grass doesn't begin to grow until late May and forget most flowers- April showers don't bring May flowers- May showers bring June flowers. Except for bulbs. I planted dozens of fancy bulbs last fall and by May I had gorgeous hyacinths, irises, daffodils, and tulips blooming! At Lowe's where I work they sell spring blooming bulbs in the fall, and in late November they give all the leftover bulbs to the employees, and we can take as many as we want.

I love the May showers brings June flowers! That’s a saying I haven’t heard before! But yeah that sounds like Alaska!

I can’t choose a favorite color, but I do like green! Maybe not diarrhea green, but every other shade is amazing!

Sounds like a mighty fine deal, if ya ask me! Free plants? Who doesn’t want that? Aside from people who don’t like plants…
