Just like children! They eat, sleep, play, poop, make huge messes and never even say thank you! Either way, I love my babies so much. They bring me so much joy and happiness and I am so thankful for them.

they are adorable

great focus on the photos. they're so beautiful. imagine a bird could be taught to say
"thank you" at the right moments, like after you give it something it wants..? lol. that
would be wonderful.

Yes yesterday!! I posted up some pics in the Cockatoo section. She's such a doll. Sadly, we're noticing some things that really alarm us. Seems that she was either traumatized at some point, or lived in a very tiny bubble. She's scared of a LOT of things :( Poor baby!!

I thought of Molly and Cody this evening when Loki decided to come eat dinner with us :p I was like "They have their own space/cutting board to make clean up easier. But you, Loki, would find a way to make a mess off of there!" Heheheh

It IS awesome, try having a Grey ;) Not to mention, Loki did. NO LIE! The little guy was on my shoulder and after sneezing several times I said "Bless you" and right into my ear he went "Thank you" !! Hasn't said it since though, much like all his other words :(

Tracy, is Molly talking any more? Still trying to teach her to say "Tracy loves me!"??

My Sun Conure says Thank You when I fill his food dish or give him a snack. My father always comments that "That damn bird is more polite than most people even if he doesn't understand what thank you means. If you can teach a bird to say thank you why can't humans be taught to say thank you?" he'll ramble and rant for like 10 minutes about how rude humans are.

LOL my dad would say something just like that! Cute pictures! :green2:

Molly, I've noticed that one of your green cheeks has some black discoloration in some of his wing feathers. Is this normal or something you're already aware of? I've recently noticed a slight black disocoloration around some of Guava's wing feathers as well, and naturally am a bit worried.

it happens when feathers get damaged or over preened- it often happens at the ends of their tails

Lexx, From everything I have read it said that after a GCC goes through it's first molt that it is completely normal for the ends of some of the feathers to be black in color. Molly's feathers are in very good condition. She has shredding and preening toys in her cage and she uses all of them. Also, both birds are fed Roudybush pellets.

Yep, Loki has the same "black" at the tips if his green feathers. All good!!
