does anyone here use a Bissell ?

I am talking about the old fashion muscle power sweeper.

Had one as a kid growing up and I recall it worked fairly well.

I was wondering if anyone uses something like that for cleanup around their cages and if so how well it works.

I am a bit dubious of the quality of the newer models.

LOL-- had one growing up and it drove me crazy b/c the hose always detached from the body and shot debris all over lol! But it did last FOR-EVVV-EEERRRR

We have long used the push style swipers. The new ones are nowhere near the quality of the one's of old. Commonly, the new ones die sometime during year two of use.

Neither the electric powered ones or the hand units -- Julio dislikes both equally.

After all, he works so very hard to create that art, only to have it removed!

I use a Kenmore canister type. It's an older model paid $500 new for it 10 years or so ago and it "worked" great..now needs to go see the repair guy coz it doesn't have the suction it should ( replaced bag and filters checked for blockages) Amy talks to it when I run it.

My “shark” vacuum sank.
First the roller quit (belt broke most likely)
I watched yt videos on replacment but it looks like it has several hidden screws.
So I was just using the hose off the vacuum for pick up around the cages.
Last time I tried to use it it smelled like oil.
What’s the saying. Destined for the ash heap of history.

So I was thinking of going with a retro style of pick up device.

What I WANT is one of them vacuums that filter through water.
But wit a low end price of $700 dollars it’s just not in the cards.
My mother had one when I was in H.S. And it was fantastic.
It was called a Rainbow.

The price of a Bissell is worth it if it will pickup seeds ond feathers and stuff.
But I am not taking about a vacuum, just brushes and muscle power.

I love Shark vacuums and Dysons. I know they are pricey, but they have exceeded my expectations in terms of filtration , suction and noise level (as well as swivel ability)

Funny thing , my youngest son wanted one of those manual sweepers for X-mas when he was like 4, so thats what he got. After a month or so, not so much. Would be pretty difficult to find an older (better) one, not something most people would keep as an antique or classic item....

As a child I liked to push things around.
My sister had a toy Bissell (pink) that I pushed around.
Up on our farm I would push a wheelbarrow all over.

Mowing lawns for pocket change cured me of the desire to push stuff around.
