The conure smuggler has been charged with smuggling protected animals. Maximum penalty is 20 years and $250,000 fine. Unless he's done this before he won't get that. I'd like his penalty to include being hog tied and shrinkwrapped and stuffed in a box. It would only be fair.

Their noise level depends on the state of your home, and if you're noisy and yelling lots, your grey tends to do that, too. I suspect Yvons will mimic Winter, my dog, and Charlie, who likes to tell Winter to 'SHUT UP!'. I'm already starting to see some of my main noisy habits; The microwave beeping, me yelling at the dog, the dog barking, cupboards closing, and me snoring. It's going to be interesting seeing how the new grey will pick up on them, LOL!

Well, my CAG noise decibel level is based on what she's mimicking. I've listened to her from rooms away. She tends to chatter and sound like TV or people. When she's loud it's due to what she's mimicking; hawks, dragons, smoke detectors, etc. Her normal preferences are words, comments, statements etc. It'll be fun learning Yvons' verbal preferences and presets.

Update on the YVONS situation - FINALLY exchanged address, phone number, mailing address, etc with the rescuer/breeder. I'm in a minor bind. I need ID to pick up Yvons, but my address is wrong on it (It's 14 years out of date!), and it's been in need of an update for many, many years. I gave the breeder/rescuer my information and real home address, telling him the new address was my mailing address. Hopefully, I won't have issues with my old address on my ID.

Things are still going at a snail's pace here at Domnijoe Pets 'N Art. The Rescuer/breeder is phoning around and coordinating things with the family with Yvons. Then he needs to get his driver to the family, pick up the bird, and deliver it to the airport. To complicate things, the Sci-fi/Fantasy convention I'm going to for 3 days is looming ahead like a volcanic eruption. I need to get frames, get bus tickets, pay for my food (Room is taken care of, thank the gods!) aaaand help my friend bring everything to the Hotel on Friday. Plus, there's the business of getting my dog to the dog sitter on Friday.

Yvons should be on his flight tomorrow, which means he will arrive either sometime tomorrow or on Tuesday. He says he's coordinated shipping with the delivery person and the person with the bird. STOKED and NERVOUS!

I can't afford a $55 bag of Tropican sticks, so I'm getting a bag of Tropican pellets until I can get a proper bag of sticks for Yvons. I know it's not ideal, but I'm hoping he'll forgive me, especially with that Convention being so freaking close!

I thought you were going to have them provide you with enough of his food to hold you over? I would think they would care enough about his well being to do this.

Can't you forgo the convention to take care of your new adoptee? There will always be more conventions but Yvon needs you to adjust to his new home after being shipped. What if he doesn't eat while you're gone? Just saying.

I wish I could forgo the convention. I've already paid for my room, have a pet sitter, and I'm nose deep in hardcore volunteering, from handling cash to helping set up/tear down. If worst comes to worst, I can always bring Yvons to the convention and keep him in the room. It's a pet-friendly hotel (LOTS and LOTS of dogs). I would just need a pet deposit

Great idea to bring Yvons. And the food! How far do you have to travel for the convention? I know how important these are to people. My SIL does Zombie conventions and its a big social thing for her. Do you make any money at the convention?

Don't envy the decisions that you have to make! Keep calm and remember to breath. That'll help you make better choices.
