LOL! Yep! Zip ties rock! Might need some heavy-duty ones for when/if these ones break, as I've heard Greys are experts at dismantling them , LOL!!

Yup, definitely need heavy duty! Mine manipulates to get at clasp. Then the disassembly begins. I've found (many trials later) if color is close to item and clasp positioned out of site ties last longer. But, mine is a disassembly expert.

And zip ties... Been there, tried that. Avery's first upgraded cage when I got him needed a little engineering magic, and I mistakenly thought zip ties would do it. Nope! It was like he had a deeply ingrained instinct to go after them. Size, color, placement, didn't matter. He was actively seeking them out to destroy. Too smart for their own good! That cage didn't stay with us for long. Upgraded twice since then

So far, so good! I didn't realize how LOUD in terms of volume Yvon is! He doesn't use his voice often, but when he does, you know it! He's started talking, makes a car alarm beep, says 'Laaaa', makes some weird UFO noise, beeps, squeaks, and I caught him saying 'meow' on his second day here. I think he's settled enough to finally take him out of his cage. I wanted him to be comfortable with his surroundings before I did that.

Yvons started singing today. And did a wolf whistle, LOL! I also got more pix of the boy. I'm trying to get him out of his cage for playtime, but it's just not clicked that he's allowed out. It's barely been week. It's to be expected .

I love it when ge says 'Weee-ooooo-weeee-oooooo'. And he does his UFO noises. He's picked up on Vortex's whistle, only at high decibels. Oy. I'll get used to the noise eventually.

What does he do when you put your hand in the cage?

This is going to sound like a really dumb question, but is the white area around the eyes and face bare skin like a macaw or does it have tiny flat feathers?

On mine its a combination of tiny white feather and skin. When molting (like now) more skin shows. It's kinda weird cause you can see how normally eyeball protrudes out slightly. It's a darker greyish shadow under the skin. I've wondered since birds can adjust vision for distance if that's the reason.

I read that this white skin can turn pinkish with increased blood flow like excitement.
