Ear leaking

I have a lovebird, Skittles, he is 6 years old and amazing of course. It seems around this time of year he will get leaky ears but it does not last. However, he has had a leaky ear for a few days now and last night it had a unpleasant smell. I called the vets 6 in total and no one can see him until next week. He still eats, flys around and does all his normal stuff, I am just concerned that this could turn into something bigger before he can see a vet. Any suggestions out there in a more knowledgeable field of bird care my fellow bird lovers. I hope someone can help, I am looking for ear drops and am not sure what to get?

Well I would not bathe or shower him for now. And I wouldnt administer human ear drops unless directed by a qualified vet.
