Ok, I have decided on my official submission. Theme is “Joy”. This shot was taken a few months after we adopted Rico. We were his 4th owner in as many years. He was plucking at the the time. At this moment, he was surrounded by the whole family and put on a fabulous wing display. I think he knew he was loved, finally among his final flock, the fears of abandonment waning away.

Oh Beak-Beak, whoever thinks birds faces cannot show emotion truly doesn't understand them at all - and they've never seen a pic like this either. I am so sad for everything that Rico might have gone through before, but so very happy for him and you now. Yes, he knows he is finally home among those who will love him forever, it's etched all over his beautiful face!
