Hi and welcome. No she is capable of talking the same as the males.

Do you know what to feed her?

They can. It's not super common, but it's possible. Mind is a year old (year and a half) and mimics lots of noises and makes kisses on command (if she feels like it--she's been really prissy lately). It's less a thing of "can" and more will. Just repeat things over and over for months and see what eventually happens! An African Grey is a 99% yes, a Quaker is probably a 85% yes, a galah is more like a 5% yes. It's simply not what they are known for. The gender doesn't inhibit the ability or anything though. Even budgies can (and often do) talk some. I just wouldn't expect much, and definitely not for a long time. My girl loves mimicking weirdo noises though so I think in a few years she might try to say a word or two.

I have a boy and look after my friends boy RB2 also and they are great talkers. Plum is very good and uses phrases in context. The best thing is to talk to her!

My 3 year old girl talks well. She has a growing list of what she can say. She's no African grey but I'd call her a good talker for a cockatoo.

:18::18::18::59::18:That's great! I will hold out hope that my girl will be a talker too! She's just a baby now, and she does like playing with sounds. :) my friend always jokes though that the first thing she's say is the MF word because I am always quoting a certain line from Die Hard. :jumping40

Lol. She may surprise you with her first words then! Layla came to me with a few words. I haven't even had her 6 months and she's already added more. My baby is only 5 months old. She doesn't have much variety in her noises yet but man can she shriek! So much louder than Layla who mainly talks and jabbers cute words. Baby Jazzi actually startles Layla with her loud contact call. Lol

Would love to see some pics and vids if you can manage it of your girls? What was Layla's response to Jazzi? :)

Do you have Instagram by chance? They have their own page. layla_n_jazzi_too
Is the name. 100's of pics and videos (I'm a professional photographer so have many cameras at hand to snap away but most are just iPhone stuff). lol I post daily. Layla is ignoring baby. She's a bit quiet and not excited to meet her so we are keeping everyone separate. They are fine on separate play stands and cages next to each other. Both just do their own thing. I was prepared for that so I literally have two of everything. Lol

Love your girls :)

Valentine talks up a storm and is 6.5 months old. We talk to him all the time and he started picking things up at about 5 months and has grown. He has his favorite words and phrases but will surprise us with others.... like "Aflac" lol

His first and favorite is "good boy", his second favorite is "hey baby". He will tell my female Ekkie "come on, step up" when I'm trying to get her to do so lol. He also likes to say "what ya doing" and "where ya going?"

Basically just talk to her consistently.

He's a boy :)

And I need to try to get videos of him talking. When he sees me with my phone he gets right in front and poses before he tries to take it!

can female galah be talker to?

I haven't heard of a difference between speaking ability of a male v female in the galahs. I think it is more about the individual bird.

Unless the light is playing tricks this looks like a boy! Adorable.
