I have 1 parakeet and his name is Tiki
I have noised lately that my parakeet Tiki is picking at him self like a cat with fleas, i don't know what it is. He is not picking feathers out he is just like scratching like he has fleas or something. Please help, thanks:greenyellow:

When was the last time he had a bath? can you upload a video of the behavior? Have you had birds in the past? How long have you had tiki?

I have never been able to get him to take a bath he just hates water on him. I will try to get a video of the behavior. I have never had birds in the past and I have had him about 5-6 months.

Ok, he might have itchy skin. Do try to get a video, but also please start bathing him. Just like humans, even if he doesn't LIKE the bath, he needs one, at least once a week but more is better. You can give him a shower with a water bottle.

Would mites make him itch? Arent they like bird fleas? Im not sure, just guessing

He douse't constantly itch him self, he just like every once a day or every other day he will just be siting there on hi perch and all of a sudden he will furiously start to pick him self, not any feathers just like he has a very bad itch. and the after about 30 second it is like the itch is gone.
