Food under wings?

The other night I noticed that Bumble is stuffing pellets under her wings. Is this normal? Is it a concern?

I have no frigging Idea but I am intrigued! I'll be monitoring this post, if not for nothing I've read something my insane conure hasn't done yet!

I'm sure he has a good reason, at least in bird think, I'm just really curious to see if someone knows why!!!!!!

Inger I've read of Cockatoos doing that with sticks and pieces of paper and cardboard, but never pellets. Maybe Bumble is stocking up for your trip?

It is an interest way of assure that she has a mid-night chew!

The term normal and Parrots, with regard to their antics is a difficult undertaking to define! In this case, it becomes what she does with them later that will define the classification of the activity. A mid-night chew - smart Bird! If she carries them all night just to drop them before morning breakfast; either a fear of starvation or looking for an increase in the amount of food provided! The starvation issue would be concerning and the trick to get more food - mind playing her Human!

So, what did she do with the Pellets?

Uhhhh I don’t know. But her bowls are never empty. She gets pellet/seed mix at bed time and chop and fresh foods throughout the day. Wish i had an infrared camera to record and monitor night activity! Could it be a sign of boredom?

My female Goffins "Peanut" does this frequently! She has no intention of keeping the pellet under wing, and it falls to the ground after she folds her wings. Seems a silly game or way to relieve boredome!

For anyone wondering (no one), Bumble still does this. The pellets fall out almost immediately and about every 3rd one is actually flung backwards over her head. It's so silly! Although the sound of money (in the form of pellets used as toys) hitting the bottom of the cage hurts my heart a little
