Button- 3yo peach-faced lovebird (opaline turquoise ino)
Ava- 7yo Amazon hybrid (yellow-crowned x yellow-shouldered)
Big bird & little bird each got a new foraging toy. It was so cute watching them figure them out. Button was a little nervous at first, but quickly decided he wasn’t scared once I set a chunk of millet on the toy. Ava needed a little help initially to see that almonds were involved, but figured out the puzzle quickly once she got going. Her tongue cracks me up. 😆

Cute! Ona has a little puzzle toy that’s technically made for cats. She loves it. She was afraid of it at first and now we call it her “sass board” because a sure fire way to make her mad is to touch it!

What is the toy Ava has? Where did you get it? It looks like Salty might enjoy that one. My problem is - he is too smart and most puzzles and toys he figures out how to master them in literally minutes if not seconds and something that was supposed to occupy him for hours gets booted to the side quickly. Salty keeps MY mind busy, at least, figuring out new stuff for him.

Lol. It’s a new small business out of NY on Etsy! Ava figured it out pretty quickly, but she hasn’t lost interest yet. One thing I have been doing once she finds all the treats in the puzzle is playing the “shell” game with her, since those little domed pieces slide out. I put a treat under one, shift them all around, & she has to flip the cups over to find it.

I'm interested in this too. Will check it out. Keeping Nameliss interested in toys is challenging. Sometimes my brain aches trying to analyze toys that will keep her interested.

So funny. I had initially gotten Ava a wood puzzle toy made by a Canadian parrot shop. It was neat, but she just started tearing it apart with her big beak, rather than using it as a puzzle. Lol 🤦‍♀️

There was a review from someone with an African Grey, which made me think it might be suitable for Ava as well. Hopefully, Nameliss would enjoy it.
