Gilbert going to the vet today

So I think this is all definitely going to resolve itself. The skin looks nice and healthy now and he isn't picking at it. :) yay.

Tonight on our doggy walk he was chatty so I got a couple clips with my phone. [ame="http://youtu.be/YsCfzV7kmqY"]Walking the dogs with Gilbert - YouTube[/ame]

(Whenever I ignore him and talk to the dogs, he says "Gilbert you're such a good bird? Gilbert you're such a good bird?" Over and over. Lol)
I think his silly voice is so cute.

Hahaha! Loved the videos! Gilbert's looking the picture of health and good humor.

What a happy boy Gilbert is! Maybe he just had some mosquito bites (or something topically irritating) if the vet labs turned up nothing. In any case, glad he's back to being himself! And he wanted you to know- "Gilbert is a good boy!":D

Oh how he reminds me of that. He must say some variation of "Gilbert's a good boy" about 50 times per day. [emoji23]

He's soooo adorable. So happy to hear things have worked out well.

He's probably telling you that 50 times a day just to make sure you don't forget. LOL

Love the videos! Gilbert is so adorable! Glad he is doing so well.

Patti, I'm so glad to hear this resolving itself for Gilbert and for you too.

Similar to Jersey Wendy, my first thought was that something was irritating or "bugging" him and he was trying to stop it. Maybe a rogue ant or mosquito or even a sting. About 6 months ago, Cody-Blu (@8 months old) bit off a bunch of chest feathers, leaving a patch of down on chest. Went right to a-vet; Checked out fine. After a shower on the third day of this, I saw under the down patch was busy looking maze of matted looking pin feathers. I thought might be first big molt and trying to get at this "unknown" source of irritation. Fast forward, a few days later, she stopped biting them off and began to tend normally to the pin feathers. She's fully feathered and looks great. I know Gilbert has already had molts, so I'm hoping it was a one-time external irritation that is not likely to happen twice. He's such a cutie pie and getting to see him, via your posts and pics, grow up has been so much fun. Like someone else mentioned, I feel like I know Gilbert personally. He's an inspirational birdie and you're a great parront.

So glad to hear that this issue is resolving itself! Gilbert is so darn cute! :D Love seeing him so happy!

Gilbert is so adorable with his pink beak and funny little voice :). I can tell he's a happy guy, and I'm glad he's been doing just fine.

I love Gilbert's voice!!!! I don't know how, but he just gets more and more adorable, with every picture, story and video! He always brings a smile to my face.
I'm so glad he is doing great, Patti, I know it must be such a relief to not find any more feathers.

Yes! And to see nice, normal skin instead of that raw, chewed up skin-very good! (That first day was nasty! It was almost bloody when I first came home! Scary).
His voice makes me smile every day. So silly and expressive.

Great news! I enjoyed the videos of you walking :D

Just watched the videos. He is adorable! In his little harness up on your shoulder out and about so big

Goodness he's adorable! I'm so glad he's doing well and that everything is resolved for the most part. He's such a happy (and obviously a very good) boy! ;)
