Green Cheek Parenting Behavior??

Hello everyone! Long time no see:22:. I know I havn't been around much for a while and have been really busy with work and life Hope everyone is doing well!

I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with some links regarding green cheek conure parenting/mating behavior and general behavior in the wild. I see a lot of behavior articles for green cheeks in captivity but not for in their natural habitat. I would really appreciate it!

Oh and Chia is doing wonderful (in case anyone is wonderin hehe) She is now fully flighted and completely running the house! I absolutely adore her and I will have to post some updated pictures soon

What types of articles or information are you looking for?

Unfortunately there have been *very* few thorough studies of most of the popular parrot species in their natural environments for several reasons - most notably is the location. Many of our parrots come from, or are descended from, birds from regions fairly undisturbed by humans. All in all it's best kept that way - but this means we don't know much about what they (the birds) are normally doing out there.

The few good studies you will find will almost certainly be in Portuguese. So unless you're already fluent this would take quite an effort - particularly because being conversationally fluent in a given language is still far short of reading field research publications in that language.

That said, there are many bits and pieces that could be extrapolated or inferred from what we know about other bird species.

Often people want information on their specific species, or subspecies, or variation, etc etc. But if you want *useful* information, you'll often be best served by casting a wider net and reading up on avian parental/mating behavior in general. The details are different in each species, but there are many general trends that are surprisingly similar.
