grey goes on other birds cages

hey everyone....I have an african grey, pionus and half moon conure all in one bedroom. The grey recently started going to the pionus's cage.....they sit right next to eachother and seem to get along. The thing is she climbs down her cage, runs to his cage and climbs up it. Has anyone encountered this? She is also a plucker...but when she is with the other birds she stops...should I let this behaviour continue?

I'm not really sure if I understand this, but if they're happy together and she stops plucking then it sounds like a good thing to me. What I don't understand is what you see an an odd behavior: walking over to where her friend is?

oops I accidentally deleted a part when I edited the post. She gets inside the cage and eats the pionus's food. The other morning she went right to his cage and ate his food instead, and didn't even touch hers. It just seems a bit weird she would climb down her cage and walk around on the floor....sometimes ill walk in the room and she will be trotting around on the floor, playing with toys that had fallen (I do have a specific room in the house just for the birds with nothing unsafe in it)

Do they eat the same kind of food?

yep they do....the grey only picks out his sunflower seeds tho...(i only give them about 8-10 each and the rest pellets) Maybe switching their cages would help?

Yes, by all means, they are happy together. My grey and Moluccan also get down and run around it's instinctive behavior; in the natural they forage for food.

today i actually went in there and they were preening eachother. I'm just concerened because they grey eats all of the pionus's food and she doesn't even touch her own

Greys are so athletic. I agree with the other forum members. If the plucking stops and they are happy by all means let them share food and cages. Can' see the harm in this activity. Also, enjoy them.

I have a GCC, Cockatiel and B&G Macaw. During the day the GCC and Cockatiel are in and out of the cage they used to sleep together in (I recently put the Cockatiel in a different sleep cage). I have 2 food dishes in there that they share out of. My macaw is constantly climbing down off his cage or the playgym and coming into my office to see what I'm doing. I just took a video this morning of the GCC and Macaw eating breakfast out of the same bowel. My GCC will eat out of whatever bowel he finds! He will even go into the Macaws cage to snoop around.

So in short, there is nothing wrong with this behavior, if they are getting along and enjoying each others company then you should enjoy that lol. Make sure there is some food put in the cage for the Pionus at night so it has some to eat when the Grey is not in there. They have each found a friend and that is wonderful!
