Grey strip along the bottom of screen

This just started today! Every page has a grey-ish strip along the bottom of every screen! It has an x, which closes it! Next window? Same thing! It looks like the compliance windows notifying you of the use of cookies, but no text! I use an iPad Pro!

Good ol GDPR and the European Union protecting us!

A little more information, apparently there has been a design change on the page! Intentional or not! It appears to be the advertising banner that is normally directly under the forum’s top header!

At least you are getting a gray stripe! I'm getting the wonders of ever cycling advertisement! A total distraction whether one switches to different pages or stay on the same page! The joy of ever changing Adds!!!

As of this Post, the only go-around that I have found is to click the box in the upper right hand corner of the bar. But, that only works for the single page you are on. Change the page and back it comes.

I have a modified "hosts" file which blocks known add sites...that may be the reason.

Just to allay any worries, PF hasn't been hacked The forum is working with a new ad company.

Well, on an Apple phone, depending on the ad, it is taking almost half the screen! In landscape mode!

I would also like to suggest that as a supporting member, I should be exempt from ads, I would figure that would be a perk of supporting the forum, and secondly as Flboy stated and I agree with, it takes up a good portion of my screen, both on iPhone and on my laptop.

Too bad! On it’s original configuration, I would visit the sites quite often! Now I am x-ing it out before it finishes loading!
And by making it ‘float’ I now find it obtrusive!

I’ve noticed if you “X” it out, it goes to ignore for like 30 seconds but then comes right back.

With my MacBook Pro it takes up about 1/6 of the screen.

Yep, I’m getting sunglasses and along the bottom. I’m in portrait mode it’s small and almost unobtrusive. But when it goes into landscape mode it makes the site unusable.

The footer ad should go away once you are logged into the site. It should be gone by tomorrow.

You should update the hosts file on your Windows PC's and Macs . It will get rid of ads on most if not all sites.
