Sprite the cinnamon green cheek conure.
Last night for Sprite's birthday I got him three jars of baby food; sweet carrot, apple & blueberry (his absolute favorite!) and mixed vegetable. He hardly gets through a few teaspoons of the jar before it goes bad so I decided to freeze it! I covered 2 cookie sheets in saran wrap and plopped the baby food on them with a spoon. The dots of baby food were varying in size but no larger than a quarter and no smaller than a penny (probably change sizes depending on your bird's size). I put the cookie sheets in the freezer uncovered for about an hour and a half, and when they were frozen pretty solid I took them off and stored them in a tupperware in the freezer. When I had this idea I was planning on taking them out and melting them as I wanted to give them to Sprite, but it turns out Sprite enjoys eating them frozen like a popsicle!
The first picture is Sprite stealing the food off the tray while I was filling the trays :P Second picture is the finished product!

That's cute!!! And what a great idea!

I've heard some people will make ice pops/cubes with fruit and veggies in the water, and have heard of others making a fruit slushie and freezing that!

Great idea thanks for sharing:)

with summer coming, this is an excellent idea! thanks!

Wow! I am TOTALLY stealing this! You're definitely going to make many birds happy! :D

That's a very good idea!!

Thanks for sharing!

Do you think all breeds would like this?

Species, not breed! ;)

And yes, other species may enjoy it as well!

Well, I guess I'm making this for Chubby tonight :)!

Wish I'd seen this earlier! Great idea. I've got a stack of baby food in the fridge that needs using but alas... getting chilly here now!

Maybe if I whack the heating on full it won't be a waste... :p

I make a fruit mash, usually nectarines and plums... with ground pellets mixed in.

Porter is a brat and won't eat his pellets usually... so I have to be extra sneaky xP
