Illiger’s Macaw
Illiger’s Macaw approximately six years old. She adopted me when she was two. She steps up (when she decides). Bows her head and waits for some scratches if you ask her if she wants one. Says hello, whatcha doin, com’ere, and mumbles a lot. The word “hello”is a greeting, but also means “cookie”, “treat”, “go”, and anything you’re trying to teach. Loves to dance, with a preference for John Cougar Mellencamp. Also loves to screech…….LOUD is an understatement.

Welcome to you and Pearl! She's beautiful ❤️

She’s a beauty! 😍

I wasn't sure where to post this link about macaw intelligence and since you have a macaw I figured I'd put it here. It talks about how macaws are the only nonhuman animal that learn how to behave by watching others.

Don't CAG's and other companion birds learn by observing too? Or is it that macaws were only ones that had actual observation?

It's not learning from observation about how to do something. It's learning social behavior in a context. Read the article for the explanation. It's interesting.
