Luna has a problem and I would like to know if anyone else has seen this before. It reminds me of Bingo’s problems net the end.
I made a vet appointment right away it will be Thursday morning.
She acts like she is gagging or something is stuck in her mouth.
She won’t let me look that’s for sure.
Short video here.

Is this a new behaviour? My princess parrot does a kinda similar thing in that she flicks her beak when she adjusts her crop. Glad you've made an appointment, i hope Luna will be ok 🙏

I’ve seen her do this off/on for a few weeks but not this much.
I’ve seen her try to reach her toes inside her mouth but the head shaking is kind of new.

Her appetite is undimmed (not right word) so that’s good.

I don’t know her history because she is a rescue I adopted in 2017. She could be 12 years old or 42 years old I have no idea.
She’s been less active and not flying much.
I assumed she was/is kind of depressed because Merlin only wants Cheddar’s company.

My Amazon Lucy has never done this. Let us know what the vet says. Good Luck

Salty has not. Looks like she has a hair or seed chaff stuck somewhere.

She’s been completely normal today.
Maybe it WAS something she ate.

I have seen this behavior before but not so prolonged.
Not long enough to get it on video.
It scared me to see this, reminded me of Bingo when he was so sick.
Still planning on going to the vet and show him video, get her checked.

Well I canceled the appointment.
Luna has the temperature of a wild caught parrot.
It’s very stressful just getting her in a transport cage.

I think I know what she ate that affected her like that.
All my birds like pasta and if we don’t share they scream.
Anyway Kraft makes these little containers of Mac &cheese and there is something weird about the “instant pasta “ that seems to make it more sticky and starchy.
Definitely going to stay away from that.
