Black Head Caique
I have a 2 yr old male black headed caique. I got him when he was 1. I trained him to step onto mine or anyone's finger when you open his cage. He was extremely playful, hopping all around the house and playing with random toys (destroying all of them), rolling over on his back etc. I used to spend a lot of time with him and due to a second job and being extremely busy, I haven't been able to spend that much time with him. He does not step on my finger anymore and not as playful. It seems like don't like me at all . It's a fight to get him to come to me and when he does, he screams. Never bite but screams. Any advice on how to fix my relationship with him? Or should I consider rehoming? Help!

PS: He is very playful with my 3yr old but would bite my 10yr old bad.

Parrots require a lot of attention and thrive best when people work from home, work part time or are retired. You really can't give a bird the attention it needs working two jobs. Is that going to change any time soon? He's probably miserable locked in his cage almost all the time. If you can't give him what he needs you probably should rehome him. I hate to see him start biting the 3 year old. Is the 10 year old doing something to annoy him? Maybe when you're not looking?
