Hi everyone! I just got 6 month old Hahn's macaw 3 days ago at the exotic bird show in Orlando. His name is Petrie
. And he picked me:heart:
I fell in love with Hahn's Macaws after reading all about them. And so I have been waiting for the day to get one for several months. Petrie picked me because as soon as he was let out of his cage at the show he went straight up to my neck to snuggle. And that was it, he had my heart and he was the one!
I have joined the forum a couple weeks ago because after months of researching all about parrots and reading about people's experiences with different species, I thought I would like to join and share my experiences with everyone as well! Because I have benefited so much from all of you. So thank you!
(he is MY first parrot, but I have been around several other family parrots throughout my life)
So far, Petrie has been extremely sweet and cuddly. And quiet and sleepy (but I know that's all with the transitioning into a new home and him being a baby). I can't wait to really see Petrie's personality! I know he is going to be a complete joy. He steps up very very well and he is really calm despite all the new surroundings. He likes to dance to music and loves kisses and faces. Every time he is near my face he starts closing his eyes:2_smile: and he knows how to say mama! Can't wait to form our bond and teach him so much more.
