Osky-peach faced lovebird
Hi!
I recently found this forum and I love it! I don't actually know anyone with a bird so it seems great for getting advice and tips.

I am a teen girl who owns a 7 year old male peach faced lovebird, or more he owns me. His name is Osky and he mainly loves to snuggle and destroy things like school textbooks.

So hi! And hopefully I can learn a ton from you guys!

:rainbow1:

Hello and welcome! Your little Osky sounds like a real doll :)

Hello, a warm welcome to you and Osky! So happy you joined us! Your lovebird sounds like a character. Very cute name for a Lovie.

Hi, and welcome! Osky sounds wonderful. Lovebirds are my very favorite parrot in the entire world. Looking forward to hearing more about your guy.

Hi and welcome. I'd love to see pictures of your little guy.

Hi, welcome to you and Osky :). This is a great place to learn and share. Glad you joined us.

Thanks for the welcome! I have never met any teens with birds, minus one who sadly killed their's day one due to Teflon fumes, or even any adults so this is very exciting!

About Osky: I got him when I was around 7 and he is pretty much a velcro bird. He loves chewing on anything wood/plastic/other and snuggling in his little cozy. His favorite food is probably popcorn or millet. He is not clipped and also likes to fly around and make a ruckus. Most of the time when he is out, he is on me.

He is some sort of mutation, and has a sky blue tail and no dark feathers at all.

I'm not entirely sure how posting pictures on here works, but when I figure it out I'll share.

Also if anyone has any recommendations for activities outside the cage for a lovebird, more ideas are always great!

Thanks!

The best and easiest way to get pics here would be through Photobucket. We'd love to see Osky. He sounds gorgeous!

Have you ever tried giving him foot toys? Ones that can be held and played with on a tabletop or wherever he's sitting? If you're up to it and can have patience and devote the time, you can try to have him learn simple tricks, tricks with props, target train, recall train (like teaching a dog to come).

Welcome! Osky sounds wonderful!
I'm looking forward to learning from you too....I'm taking in what I can on lovebirds...my daughter is desperately saving her pocket money for one...
