How long does an Amazon's hormonal aggression usually last? I have read that it can last a year or 2 and then after that they will calm down. Is that usually true?

Oh no. My Hunter is 14, and she still goes through her hormonal stage each and every year. Luckily I don't have to deal with any kind of aggression, however, she is extremely hormonal in the springtime. :)

My amazon is 35 and still went through it this spring, not super aggressive but more so than normal.

Hey mom2mny, zons normally mature at about age 7=8 yrs old. They usually go though a hormonal period in the spring that last up to a couple of months. Males tend to become more aggressive at this time. If they don't mate, they tend to "out grow" this somewhat and mellow out as they get older. Well socialized zons have much less issues with hormonal behaviors because they aren't so "centered" on one person.

Total agree with the above. My zon is 14, and with out fail every year her manner changes. It used to involve me getting attacked, but the last few years she's been a lot better. She just 'displays' instead. Keep her occupied when out and away from your face, anything can trigger a sudden 'bout' .
