Well, I just dropped $14 on a lb of this stuff. Fids (Green Cheek & Gold-Capped) thought it was scenery (not true, they'll chew scenery like bad actors), and ignored it completely. They're (sort of) good at selectively eating whatever flavor of Goldenfeast I've got on hand, and Zupreem fruit-flavored pellets are their mainstay. Any suggestions on how to make these...blocks..more enticing?

Whenever I introduce new foods to Jojo, I always introduce it at her play stand. Her first reaction is she will throw it at me and attempt to bite me, but, usually, by the third time, she acts like it is her favorite treat!

I put cayenne pepper and cinnamon on new pellets to get them to try it. They will at least lick off the spices before throwing it at me. :)

Blocks? You must be using the large size. That could be why. I've never used that, even when I had my larger birds. The blocks 'coarse size' are so big they have to be for birds to hold in their hand and eat it, and they're probably not used to it. They're quite hard too, aren't they? Next time, get the smaller 'fine' size. For now, maybe try soaking it in fruit juice until they soften. Good luck!

I've had many birds over the years on Harrison's, and everyone has loved it. Never had to "convert" anyone, they took to it right away, but I think I was just lucky with that. Raven loves it so much he gets excited for it like candy lol.

I can only hope they'll come around. You're right, I got the coarse ones, which are block-y and hard. I'll try using juice to make it more palatable. Thanks for all of your suggestions, friends!

I would try wetting them with water first to give to them. Teach them how to dunk the pellets and you might be able to get them to eat them on their own. Apple juice and lettuce usually attracts brids to the pellets more often. You can also try processing the pellets into a powder and wet the powder into little balls for your parrot to eat.
