Hey all!
With it being firmly winter here in the Midwest US, the heat is running constantly and air in the house has been quite dry. I was looking into getting a humidifier for the bird room. Anything I need to look out for? Or are all humidifiers safe for use around birds?

Bumping up this post because Bumble and I are shriveling up over here and we need to know if humidifiers are safe! Current humidity in my apartment is 16%.

I've been using a cool mist vaporizer and it seems to be fine. Of course, as with anything electronic, I would never plug it in new with birdie in the room, in case there's plastic fumes. The one I have was already broken in, but it doesn't even get hot.

I've used cool mist humidifiers for a decade. I only need it in the winter. Consider a combination temperature and humidity gauge. When you consider a model exam the cleaning method and disinfecting technique. Mold and slimy gunk love cool mist humidifiers. Some are easy to clean with hot water and a bottle brush. Others need a bit of effort to remove the gunk from areas. Gunk that may or may not require a disinfectant of some kind. I don't like cool mist that have those sponge like filters. Often these have a disinfectant to inhibit mold. I'm not a fan of that.
