From reading the posts on here, it seems you need tools to put the cage together?! good grief. What should the spacing be for a gcc? Is 1 inch too big? I'm eyeballing this cage. Aviantelligence Playtop Bird Cage - Bird.com

How many food bowls should I have and do I have to buy a cage with all the necessary food bowls or can I buy food bowls seperately and attach them securely on/in the cage?

1 inch spacing is too big for a green cheek. Stick with 1/2 inch so they can't get stuck/escape. My cage has 3 bowls which I really like. One for water, one for pellets, one for fruits/veggies. Some cages require tools to put together, the one I have didn't require any tools at all, the pieces just all fit together. :)

the cage I have for Lu has 2 bowls but I bought 2 little ones for a dollar at my local bird store that I use for fresh fruit/veggies and sometimes cereal or special treats when the birdies have been good :) It required tools to put it together, but it came with them! haha it was like a little wrench/scredriver thingie and that's all i needed to put it together. Lucy's bars are 1/2"

I like having 3 food bowls. One for pellets, one for water, and one for whatever else (perishable) that I put in there! I also have a water bottle too, so he always has clean water even if he poops in his water dish.

Oh, and thank you for linking the site! I just miiiight buy Puck a new cage! :-D

I bet Puck would have a blast with a new cage! As for the tools needed, our cage came with the allen wrench we needed to put it together. We didn't need anything additional.

that looks like a really good deal, I have to say. It looks almost exactly like Geordie's cage.

No special tools are needed. Perhaps a screw driver at most.

If you don't have a screw driver, a pocket knife, or even a butter knife laying around somewhere, you could always spend a dollar at a hardware store ... considering the price of cages, this shouldn't really be the concern.

I have to look for another cage now. *Sad face* That cage is 1 inch spacing.. Ugh!! I feel bad for not buying a cage that was a good deal. I didn't like the color, but it had nice size. I'm trying to find one with a seed catcher with a play area on top thats bigger than 18 inches and under $200. Ugh.. Search continues. I'll post what I find.

look at retailmenot.com for coupons! I haven't looked recently but maybe there's some on there for cages! :)

Sprite's cage has 3 bowls and 3/4 inch spacing. I wouldnt go any higher than 3/4 spacing...You can always get extra bowls if the cage doesn't come with three.

*Screeeeamms* I finally decide to get the blue one and its 3/4 inch spacing. I notice bigger cages, bigger spacing, what gives?!
