I was looking for bird safe screws... I know stainless steel is safe but the screws I got from Home Depot which are labeled stainless steel have a warning on them as follows:

"This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm".

... so I don't know if these screws are galvanized or something because if it was ONLY stainless steel then it would not have such warnings... Home Depot employees had no idea, go figure I'm not surprised.

... so I'm buying plastic caps these to cover the screw heads because 'Nut is very attracted to biting on shiny things:

Bacca would have those caps off in a second.

There's no galvanization, it makes no sense.

All stainless steel, even kitchen knives carry that warning in California because stainless steel carries chromium. It's required to. That's what makes it "stainless." It's a bit of California hysteria.

I know I've noticed, even my blender has that warning... so these screws should be safe for my tiel?

Just make sure you keep your fids out of California!

LOL ;)

I would LOVE to move back to CA but in the back of my mind I don't know if I can really ever make the move... the taxes there are insane... I don't think I could put up with it!
