having never seen a bobcat before I can see how they look like kittens, though maybe that's just because of pictures. In person they may look a lot different

... but stupid is forever! Bobcat kittens, miss-taken for house cats! Several people had been bitten, that is shocking - not!!!

At least the proper people have them now!!!

Gee, when I saw the post, I thought this was a guy thing!

We rescued a kitten from a local alligator reserve, and this is the strangest cat I have ever seen, she also has pointed ears! She also has ‘thumbs’ (polydactyl)!
She picks up food with her paw and eats!
Otherwise, being a bit larger than our dog, she is mostly normal! Kidding!!
We have had her a year, no attacks yet!

I guess I could get how someone from another country may not know what one is, but I can't think of many/any people in states these guys are native to who don't know what they are/haven't seen one (in nature or in a zoo). My parents get them walking through their yard sometimes. Bobcats are pretty common in the southwestern US and while they aren't as big as tigers, they're a whole lot bigger than a house cat and a lot more bulky. Their kittens are proportionally larger as well. And they have a very distinct bobbed tail, hence the name "BOBcat".

No officer, she is definitely NOT a mountain lion, she's just a hefty kitty:p

oh wow yeah even in that picture you posted there's significant differences

stupid will somehow continue to permeate the world I guess

Probably should have specified the medium cat is the bobcat. The big one is a mountain lion. We had those too where I used to live (though they generally didn't venture into more populated areas, but every once in a while one would wander into town and create all kinds of panic until it was caught).

Sometimes I feel stupidity has already taken over:34: Maybe it's just my perception, but I seem to encounter far more stupid people than people with a modicum of intelligence or common sense.

Oh yeah I'm very aware of mountain lions

There's not actually more or even as much stupidity in the world now compared to 10 years ago, it's just now with social media being the vampire and the constant barrage of information from news media bringing up things that wouldn't be a story before we just see the stupidity more

Hey a few years back, my sister’s father-in-law was putting trash out at night and he saw a pretty little white striped cat. Well, after a few, here kitty kitty kitty, he went to go try to pick her up! At that point he kind a realized his mistake! But a bit too late!

I don’t for a second believe they thought they were domestic kittens. Those people robbed a den, and then didn’t know what to do when the cubs behaved like wild animals.

^^^ Both statements!!! ^^^

Question: Why are the safety sections of any manual three time larger, if not larger, than the actual 'how to' part of a manual?

Answer: Because Stupid continues to interbred with Stupid resulting in an ever grow number of Really Stupid. The danger is that Really Stupid are also interbredding!

Michigan's DNR has stated that Mountain Lions are not found in our State! Then came the advent of Wildlife Cams and surprise, surprise, Mountain Lion video from near any place in Michigan (exception large Cities) is showing Mountain Lions. We have long had Bobcats. Interesting fact, those areas with populations of either cat rarely have coyotes.

Common Sense: No longer taught in most urban homes or school systems.

An ever increasing percentage of Americans never travel more than 15 miles from their home. Haven't a clue what a Farm is or what may or may not happen on a Farm. Ask most people from larger cities where eggs, milk, and veggies come from and the answer will be at the store.

Reports of black bear sightings within the second largest city in Michigan is now a common yearly event. And, in the report, someone will state: The little one was just so cute!

So, some stupid city folk finding the Bobcat kittens and elects to bring them home is now just as likely as the idiot that knowingly steals them from their den!

It is not going to get better anytime soon!

Can I give more "thanks"? Like 1000X more???

If anyone has not watched it, the movie "Idiocracy" perfectly portrays the path our society is on. Sadly, it was meant to be a comedy but instead it turned out to be more like a prophecy of what our future will look like if society keeps it up. Highly recommended for all to watch!

Instead of using the great technological advancements of the past 50-75 years to further our species through knowledge for all, conservation of our planet as well as furthering our exploration and expansion into space, people are voluntarily dumbing themselves down with it instead whilst trashing out the only 'Earth' we currently have and reducing their own lifespans in the process. Soon enough, these morons won't be able to chew and swallow their own food unless theres an app for it! And don't even get me started on warning labels! They just getting bigger and more obvious, but you know someone somewhere made it necessary to add such a "warning":34::34::34: Sometimes, I'll be shocked if our species survives another 100 years. On the UPSIDE, while I would consider myself of "average intelligence" I often feel like a bleeping genius compared to my peers AND people much older than me:22:

Life is hard, it's harder when your lacking wherewithal .
Seem TPW will apply a stupid tax.
"After conducting the initial investigation, these additional details make this a much more severe issue from a rabies control standpoint, from a jurisdictional standpoint and from a legal standpoint," Sims said. "With the increased implications and the fact that this falls under the jurisdiction of our Texas Game Wardens, we will continue to work with them to investigate the potential criminality of the animal's capture and relocation."

Sigh. And another one:

https://nerdist.com/genius-student-assigned-high-school-marvel-character-groot/

When I did smart*** things like this in high school, I got in trouble AND a failing grade (which I deserved). And trust me, I was NEVER a teachers favorite- for doing stuff right in line with this kind of thing. Instead of getting reprimanded and a bad grade, this kid is instead hailed a genius, gets some form of "internet fame" and was given a 95% for writing "I am Groot" over and over???? Stop the planet now, I want OFF!

funny thing I found regarding health and safety warnings. Essentially one being put up means that somewhere an injury occurred because of the thing they now warn about.

I was told this several years ago in my old retail job when I saw the service elevators had a very strict warning on how to enter the elevator with a large bin. turns out someone entered in a different way and ended being beheaded by how the elevator moves

I just heard a news preview that they are in big trouble for taking the cats.

As well they should be! Ignorance of the law doesn't mean you can break the law. And not recognizing that baby bobcats aren't cute little speckled kittens doesn't mean you can steal them away from their mother and remove them from the wild.
