This must happen pretty frequently- birds swallowing things they shouldn't and eventually pass them. I know dogs do it, and birds use their beaks to touch things. Maybe when our birds get sick and die suddenly it can be caused by ingesting foreign objects.

Yuri’s foot wrap is officially off! And it’s definitely way better. I can tell it’s weaker than her other foot but she’s using it mostly normally. Every now and then it gets slightly wonky but she fixes it herself and grips with it.

Now what’s funny is I’m learning how shy Miss Yuri is. Such a complete contrast to social butterfly Ona. With Ona, any time a guest is over she immediately wants to meet them and wants to make them love her and assert her sass. Yuri, I’ve tried to introduce her to two people and both times she would not even step up. Wouldn’t take a seed from them even. Only wanted me. She gets quiet and still too like a statue. Such a contrast to how goofy she is normally.

Maybe Yuri wants to meet strangers on her terms. Except for vet and petstore, Nameliss is shy. She'll talk at strangers from her carrier, from another room, in my pocket etc. The exception is children. She dislikes being touched by strangers including accepting treats. In her 'secure' area she's a motor beak. There's some random individuals she'll respond to. I don't know what her criteria she uses.

I wouldn't worry about Yuri being shy, it just means more Yuri time for YOU!!

I think it honestly might be connected to me being there. If I’m around she only wants me. Or Ona. And sometimes her Dad but usually me.

My vet tech friend said she stepped up for all of them there! I wasn’t there then though… I think she might just be a momma’s girl.
