I am curious how you keep the wire out of reach? Little Bird has grabby toes too and does the same thing. I've used cardboard to block it off, but had to constantly replace it as she chewed through it.

The power cord is pulled tight strait away from the warmer and pinned in place by wedging wire between a cardboard box and the wall behind Bingo's cage.

I think the size of this warmer is too small for birds bigger than my Bingo. If I had a mac or Cockatoo I would want a larger size.

I plan to get more warmers next month, at least one more for Bella. Because she still plucks her feathers it would be nice to give her some extra heat. I don't think the twins (Luna and Merlin) need one (or two) because they have each other to cuddle up with.

I've been re-thinking my decision about getting one for BB even though I'm sure he'd like it,because Amy won't stay off BB's house and likes to chew stuff he shouldn't,like vacuum chords and stereo wires,he'd be at that heater in a heartbeat. I'd find him on the floor with his feetsies pointed up to the sky I guess I could install it before bedtime and remove it when Amy is out.

As far as voltage it’s safe. The wires themselves..... not so much.

The problem you mention is a consideration for Bingo as well. Merlin climbs all over Bingo’s cage. I am always close by when Merlin is out so I can stop him quick.
