So we found a perch for Simba the other day, and it turned out that the woman who was selling it was a "bird person". She wasn't there, but her husband was. So we bought the perch and then found out that she had a fair amount of stainless steel chain (50+ feet maybe) and some rings as well because the woman made toys for her birds. Got all the chain and rings for $25. Not bad. Later that day we get a call from the man that his wife had offered to sell us the remaining toy building "stuff" that she had. So another $50 got us all this, plus plans, ideas, catalogs and a few other goodies. I think we did well.

Oops...guess this should be in the DIY section. If a mod would be so kind....

Moved your thread Bruce. :)

You did GREAT!!! What an awesome find...AND a steal, too. :D

Thank you, Wendy. :)

Now to take the time to actually USE some of that stuff. :D

Whether it's a jackpot or not depends on whether most of the toy parts are big bird stuff or little bird stuff.

If it's big bird stuff YOU SCORED!

If it's mostly little bird stuff, with some big bird stuff, you probably broke even.

Wow, what a deal! Looks like there is so much good stuff in there:)

Good point, Birdman. I think it's about 60/40 little to big. She had conures, amazons, grays and macaws, so a bit of a mix all around. The smaller box seems to be all wood shapes and mostly larger size, and there are a few bigger toys in the other boxes. But since I have a macaw and a quaker, I should be able to keep them playing for a while.

Yep. Never done this before either.

Maybe some of the small bird people on this forum would be interested in taking some of the "not appropriate for macaw" parts off your hands...

I'm sure I just opened the floodgates...
