RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
June 3rd is National Egg Day!! A chance to celebrate the oval wonders of life morphing into beloved companions. For purposes of our contest the egg is symbol for when your bird was hatched or adopted into your home.

Gabby, first hatched Goffins just over 26 years ago. Parents excellent incubators, abandoned Gabby and two subsequent clutches within a week. My mom was able to feed them round the clock for weeks until weaned, taking them to work! Now enjoying a trio of cockatoo love, their parents long retired from breeding!

Fantastic theme, Scott! I can't wait to see everyone's pictures, this will be another great month for sure.

Awesome theme, Scott, what a fun month this promises to be! :)

I am definitely ready for this one, old sport, definitely. As official archivist of the Rickeybird Scrapbook, I am full to the gills of old photos, many of which predate ME in the Odyssey of the Patagonian and his hen (my wife). And it's sure to get me some serious brownie points with the madame of the manor. Many thanks!!

Ahh, looking forward to pics of a young and even more boisterous RB! Seniority hath privilege! :D

It would be easy for me to post pics of my Cockatiel babies.

But this is the earliest photo I could find of Bella right after bringing her to her forever home.

official entry.

Okay, Tex, that's the entry to beat. Two pictures worth two million words!

Wow, stunning transformation of Bella! Testament to your love and care, Wes. Could not have happened in ordinary home!!

Here's my entry, when I have gotten Pascal, his first few hours when I got him. He was such a nervous and shy bird. Still is nervous, but not nearly as shy!

Love that entry of Pascal, resembles a mischievous cat ready to pounce! From what you've described elsewhere, quite a rascal!!

My Lilly Pilly does this with Fang's food dish and used to do it in her own until i got much smaller ones for her. Not so great when her food is powdered nectar and she wants to have a bath in it!

Another great pic from you, Skarila!

I'm truly loving the theme this month, Scott! Beautiful entries already, and I can safely predict many more to come :)

JFF:

Baxter during one of my visits to the refuge, before she talked me into bringing her home. She poured on the charm, and I was soon rendered powerless against it! :) It's been love from day one.

Magnificent pic, Jon! Baxter was working her magic by appearing totally trusting with eyes closed! She had clearly chosen you by that time.

Not a great deal of convincing required here, Jon. You were a goner the moment you and the lovely Baxter laid eyes on each other :)

Oh, NO FAIR, Sax. How'm I spozed to throw in with that level of cuteness, considering what I have to work with?
Nope.

Nope.

JUST FOR FUN...................................
From the Dreadful Rickeybird Scrapbook........................

The debauchery continues...
Sorry for the blurriness. The cam wasn't fast enough to catch the action!
Actual Rickeybird eggs are about a quarter the size of this regular chicken egg.

LOL RICKEYBIRDS

See what I mean??
