Just introducing Thunder :)

This is my 29 yo boy (finally confirmed last month!), Thunder. I acquired him in 1993 from now defunct Grey Parrot Aviary in Atlanta. He has seen me through graduate school, veterinary residency, and a move from Ithaca, NY to Pennsylvania. He's never been fond of handling but steps onto a perch, and is fond of walking on the floor to check and supervise the household. He has flown exactly twice, and that was when startled accidentally, but hasn't been clipped in decades. When I cleaned his cage I would sometimes say, "Thunder, you're a mess!". He was most bonded to me and would call my name, Ilana, often. Then, of course, he put those together and for years would yell "Ilana, you're a mess!". That's my boy.

Both of your bird are very handsome. Your Meyers has much more yellow on his head than my Meyers.

My late Quaker, Lucy, used to remix words and phrases, too. She has been gone two + years and I still tell myself “it’s o-cage”.

Talking birds are amazing. And it’s wonderful to have a bird friend for many years.
