Well Yesterday I decided to open Kits door and let her come out of her cage. Sometimes i think she seems to look stronger and other times she still appears to look sleepy or weak. She did come out of her cage and wandered around on top for a bit. Then she decided to climb up on the gate I have around her cage to keep the dogs from getting up on her cage but that was a bit wobbly so i took out her perch and tried to get her to climb on it however she then ventured over my other dog who was sleeping on the chair next to her and landed between her and my husband. she was not so sure about that but she then let me put her perch near her and she stepped up onto it and I returned her to her cage. She had been out for a little while at this time. So I felt good that she came out and at least I can have her step up onto her perch for now to return her to her cage. I will bring in the gym for her to play on when i let her out. I picked up some of the sunshine factor to give her but it talks about administering it directly to the bird and at this point she is not that friendly. Does anyone know if I can simply apply it to her food? I will be picking up a yellow naped amazon on November 11th in New Hampshire.I am thinking at that point I should have Kit on the road to recovery. It is a male also in his 20's. I am hoping they will be company for each other. I do have two cages for them to be in side by side. I am interested in any offerings as to introducing new birds to each other also and what to watch for that may indicate trouble. I think thats about it for now. :)
