- Cockatiels: I got them on April 16th, 2026. Age is how I got them.
Cinnamon Cockatiel - Kelma (female)
Age: About 10 months.
Lutino Cockatiel - Gummigoo (male)
Age: About over a year.
Note: I will be responding to this everyday to log progress. If I forget a day, which I doubt may happen but could anyway, I will add it to the log.
May 6th, 2026
Session #1: 5 minutes
Action: I placed my hand in the cage for 5 minutes.
Commentary: Gummigoo jumped on my arm (because both birds do not mind interacting with arms or shoulders). He did that only to steal Kelma's food. This is a tiny bit of progress. I will probably do another session later. I also have to reward them with millets, or their favorite treats, that way they associate the action as something good.
Goal: Aim for another session, and try to make them around the 5-10 minute mark.
