I met with another member of the forum yesterday and picked up her Hahns Macaw and from the minute I saw him I have been in love! He is just so stinkin cute and funny. At the moment he is perched on the top of my laptop playing with a pen with the ink cartridge removed just as happy as he can be. How can this little guy be so opposite from the personality of my amazon? I haven't treated them any differently. Last night I sat in my living room to a chorus of three birds talking to each other and this was the conversation over and over:
IRN- "Waddya doin?"
Hahns-"Ha?"
Quaker-"QUIT!"
I just kept thinking "Are you kidding me? They are communicating and waiting for the other to speak?"

Thank You. Rocky went to one of my best friends homes. Saturday morning when she came to pick her up Rocky was having a really bad morning. I tried to get her to step up and she lunged at me and lost her balance and flew to the floor. Michelle, her new owner, got a towel to safely pick her up trying to prevent her from causing herself any harm and Rocky went beserk. In just a second Rocky had Michelles finger in her mouth and kept grinding it right down to the bone. I thought she would never let go. She never bit me like that but I never gave her the opportunity either. Oddly enough, that type of behavior is why Michelle wanted to help Rocky in the first place so that's why I agreed to let her go. I visited with her yesterday and she was already settled in so I am at ease with the change.
