Luna is injured— graphic photo—

Having multiple parrots & dogs on top of it can get overwhelming. I can understand why you’d be drained & tired. My parrots that have bonded don’t want much to do with me anymore so luckily that has freed up some of my time. I can’t imagine being in your situation taking care of multiple parrots that are sick all at once. Just know you are doing the best you can. I myself on days that I am feeling tired, and drained I just make sure their cages are cleaned, and that I do quick trainings. I make foraging toys ahead of time for these specific days. It really does help. Then they aren’t just bored in a cage screaming, and picking at each other. I hope something in here helps. I’m sorry you are going through a rough patch with your parrots.
With The Twins that was my primary goal.
They have for the most part bonded to each other.

I pick up Merlin by hand every day and 2/3 times a week I will hold him and sit with him till he flies off.
I keep him just friendly enough.

Luna likes me in her own unique way.
We have a greeting ritual, I extend my index finger into the cage and she gives me the gentlest of bites.
She steps up on her iPad perch and normally comes back to the cage when called.
She will even step up on my hand if she is stuck somewhere.

The fly in the ointment is Merlin seems more interested in Bingo than being a friend or mate to Luna.
That’s why I think he might be a she and I need to do a DNA test.

One of these days when I don’t have more urgent medical issues.

Update.

Luna had more blood on her beak this morning.
Nothing like in the picture but obvious.
Have a work in appointment around 1:15 pm.
Here is my prediction.

Dr looks at Luna and sees nothing wrong.
Dr takes a throat culture..
No mater the results will prescribe antibiotics.

Go home $200 dollars poorer and no guarantee Rx will help.
Now I will have an extremely reluctant parrot to force feed Rx and she’s going to hate me for 6 months.

I am already force feeding Bingo milk thistle but.
He’s tame.
To week to fight it.
He can’t fly away from me.
Will post again when I get back, see how well I predicted results.
Why would antibiotic be given for a bloody nose? Sinus infection? Does Luna pick her nose with her claws? Are they too sharp?
Frustrating.

I have read infections can cause a bloody nose.
My Dr is a one trick pony, antibiotics are his goto approach. It's why I don't have much faith in him.
In waiting room now.

Hoping things went well for Luna, Wes!! 🙏🙏🙏

I got 3 out of 4 of my prediction.
He did a throat culture.
He prescribed antibiotics.
And it cost just under $200.

He did see something but I don’t understand what.
Something on the roof of Luna’s mouth/throat didn’t look right.

Anyway I have to keep them separate. After all this time together I think they both have it already or else it’s not contagious.

Can you put the medication into something she likes to eat? It seems like there's no point in keeping them separated. If it's infectious both are already exposed to it from having lived together so closely.

IDK.

Luna is a good eater. If I put the Rx in food the would need to be separated or Merlin might eat the spiked food and Luna wouldn’t get it.
I can make some corn bread or maybe soak some onto a piece of cookie.
For today I will try to give it directly. I should be able to trick her once into the bedroom where I can towel her.
Tricking her a second time with the same trick is unlikely.
