I couldn't resist sharing Sweet Pea's silliness. She got a little carried away with her dinner.

Just "a little"?? LOLLOL...what was she eating?

I love to see pics of your Sweet Pea!! I think she's adorable no matter what she's doing! :D

She was having her favorite meal! Here's the recipe.

Organic couscous, organic hulled millet, organic rolled oats, diced carrots, diced yellow and red peppers, organic quinoa, almond pieces, corn, parsley, cayenne pepper, basil leaves, ground cumin, dried kelp.

I use 2 cups each of couscous, rolled oats, and quinoa, then add everything else, I change it up a little every time but that's the basic recipe. Then I freeze it in meal size servings. All the birds love it. Poppy was a little stubborn but it's her favorite now too.

Awww, thank you, Julie! She's a sweetheart.

How adorable is that? Thanks Allee!

Goodness, can we say YUUUMMM, YUMM! What a sweetheart. Also, thanks for recipe, hopefully Doodle is that enthusiastic about her dinner! LOL!

Thanks for the recipe! I will make it for my fids. Sassy will dig into it I'm sure as she finally is at least trying about anything I give her. She doesn't always eat much of new things but she at least tries it. Peanut and Cisco on the other hand usually turn their beaks up to new things. Cisco at least was given pellets before he came here...Peanut never had pellets before, and now at least she will eat some pellets. Oh well, I will keep trying...

Don't you just love seeing all that yummy food all over their beaks and Sweet pea is a DOLL! I know it makes me feel so appreciated when they dive in like that. :D

Laura, it is so nice to get it right, occasionally. It's really tough to tell a parrot they must have a healthier diet. Sweet Pea was easy because I got her when she was young. Harry was awful, she refused to let anything other than seed past her beak, a version of this recipe was one of the first things she tried and liked. :)

I am going to try that recipe. My tiel is very reluctant when it comes to veggies and fruits. If she ends up liking it I will grow some basil, parsley, and cayenne to save money. I also have been wondering if all peppers are safe for birds?

Awww such a cutie is Sweet Pea. I just love birdie pictures with *stuffs* all over their little beakies. Or big beakies - they are all cute!!!!

Awww, that Sweet Pea just makes me smile! What a sweet picture!!!
I am also going to use that recipe, just wondering where you find the kelp?

Peppers are safe for parrots, try not to let them give you kisses after a spicy meal. :)

Terry, I buy human grade dried kelp in the organic produce department at a local supermarket. I don't use much at all, maybe a tablespoon crushed to the basic recipe. I usually add fresh chopped veggies and fruits to the basic mix when I thaw and serve it.

Just seeing this, Allee! I love this pic of Sweet Pea! Judging from that beak, Mommy done did good! Lol!

I have learned about the spicy kiss many times! She is pretty affectionate. She tends to like the spicier foods.

Now, THAT'S a food beard to be proud of. Looks like she knows it too!

Awww thanks! Sweet Pea always makes my smile.
