Peachie is FAR to sweet to really exhibit any kinda stink eye, this may have been the closest she ever got when I caught her mid-yawn....

I think it's adorable too. And it's just a subtle body language difference between that and his "come hither" look when he wants something or trying to get Baxter's attention

I have little resistance for Nameliss come hither look. So if I am disciplining her, I leave the room. Birds have a range of expressions. I love it when they are caught on camera.

Lovejoy went for a bath in the big water dishes in ALL THREE bird cages today!! Lately he seems to be much more interested in immediately trying to eat my phone rather than having his picture taken, so I was lucky to get this shot of him in all his super-soggy glory!

Fig mid-malfeasance. He is OBSESSED with that clock and we are constantly on his case about it, so he's acting innocent while also vaguely threatening (as much as a fat green puffball can be) in case I get ideas about chasing him off. (for fun)

And I forgot to add - Nuggs mid-preen. She looks ridiculous, and I love it! (also fun)

We're all guilty of it, poking a camera or a phone into our birdies faces at all sorts of inopportune moments. Try as hard as we might to get them to strike the perfect pose, it's often the spontaneous photos that work out for the best. Like that time I caught Fang while he was waving his cute little
foot in the air...

.... or when I captured this priceless look on Jem's face!!

"Why are you pointing that thing at me again?!"

Peachie did not look best pleased when I snapped her preening
after a bath!

"A little privacy please, Mother!!"

Sometimes the results are so bad they're actually pretty good ...

... but others can turn out to be absolutely spectacular. This remains the best bird photo I ever took - I was trying to take pics of Peachie eating her veg when Lovejoy photobombed her with
sensational results!

"When it's least expected,

You're the star today!
So smile,
You're on Candid Camera!!"
