I finally have my 14 week year old galah I'm in love !!!!

Thank you I'm so excited to start training. He already listens to me when I tell him to step up. The extra grey feathers are still it's baby feathers they will go soon and hopefully he will be a little more pink

Also his nipping at my fingers and I don't know if his trying to be playful or hurt me what should I do to make sure he doesn't start biting everyone?

Oh, the dear little baby! Nigel is adorable and his feathers will even out as he grows up. That's just his baby appearance. If he's beaking at you, try to discourage it by removing your hands and saying 'No'. Give him something 'legal' to chew on, like a carrot or stick of celery or a chopstick. Also, give him plenty of other, interesting things to do while you're holding him. Scratch his head, talk to him gently and offer toys or treats. If he does bite, put him down immediately. The idea is to make him want to be with you (and your toys, scratches and treats) and learn that biting will mean removal from you. Be aware, though, that a young bird has to use its beak a lot to balance and find its way around. That might entail grabbing hold of you for support.

Most of all, have fun with Nigel: he won't be a baby for long!

I'm not sure how I missed this post in the first place lol I think there were a few days my brain wasn't working or something...

But Nigel is such a lil handsome fellow!!! ❤❤❤ I think him and chili would get along fabulously

Galahs are beaky to begin with, but babies even more so...betrisher gave some wonderful advice of what to do when he's chomping on you lol.

They're such a joy though, aren't they?!? They are smart lil fluff monsters too- it didn't take chili long to catch on to things.
