After the vet visit I went to my son Sean's place for a braai (barbeque)

There were 5 humans, one bird, one dog and a cat.

Mishka was in his cage the entire time, nearby the swimming pool.

The cat and dog were very curious going right up to Mishka's cage.

I was totally surprised by Mishka's reaction..... there was NONE

The dog sat near his cage barking, Mishka was totally relaxed and sat with one claw tucked under.

When the cat approached Mishka, Mishka turned around and carried on eating a bone.

Mishka had met a cat before and it was not a pleasant one, but I guess he has got over that.

Till today he had never seen a dog, but does hear them barking in our complex.

Not once did I have to reprimand the dog or cat it was great.

The end result.... a wonderful time was had by all.

That's good to hear Mishka isn't phased by either. Our macaws don't mind dogs or cats but the other birds not so much, its either good with one or the other not both...

Awesome, Ant!!! Mishka is one VERY well socialized birdy boy. :D I wish I would carry myself as dignified as he does at certain times. ;)

Sounds like everyone had fun! :D

I think everyone here would give a lot to attend a braai with Mishka and his Mum! Imagine if we could all meet together in person one day: wouldn't that just be the *best* fun?

He honestly surprised me yesterday.....
I was quite nervous not knowing what would happen.

Perhaps I should send you some "Team Building" programs if Mishka LoL

I was phased in the begining, but soon relaxed, knowing he was not scared.

Well we all know how amazing Mishka is, and apparently brave too!

Mishka sure was braver than what I was to begin with.

I first moved the cage away from the dog and cat, then Mishka began climbing bars wanting to look at them.

Once back on the grass, (in his cage) he sat there quite content, watching them.

I belonged to a needlework group on Usenet for over twenty years. During that time, I was lucky enough to meet over a dozen of the far-distant people I'd spoken to almost daily! Oddly enough, the last one to visit was my dear friend, Joyce, from Johannesburg. She was eighty-three and flew all that way on her own with her trusty walking frame by her side. The people I've known from RSA seem to be made of Very Stern Stuff indeed! :D
