Darwin Lawliet, a baby Half Moon Conure
Yesterday I purchased a baby Half Moon, Darwin, he is still weaning and is still living at the exotic bird store we bought him from. We are expecting to bring him home around late August. He's a really gentle and confident bird and I can't wait to see him again! He is my first bird, but I have worked with many budgies and I've done a lot of research about Conures, are there any tips pertaining to only half moons?

What a beautiful baby! I had never seen a Half Moon before, and wow, what a sweetheart:)

I didn't even know about half moons before I met him.

They are one of my fave conures. They can make noise but so much better than a sun. Great size and lots of attititde and energy

Thanks javi, that's good to hear.

Also known as peach front Conures..
My mum has one, sadly he has Beak and Feather disease
Epic bird though. Sweet but a little bit on the independant, testy side.

Peach fronted conures are actually a different species. You can tell them apart by the color of the beak and the eye ring.

Ooh I love Half Moons! There was a time I was set on getting one.
I've never had a conure, but the HM's are one of my favorite looks wise :). I also love the similar Peach Fronts. Love when they're mature and get the blue too.

They're in the same family of conures as the popular Sun and Jendays (Aratinga) so I'd think they're similar in general characteristics, and vary on an individual basis. Welcome to the forum!

Aww, how adorable! Congrats! :)

jugoya I really hope your mom's conure gets better.
