Why on earth does my Lilly poop every time I enter the room and say hi, or when I go over to talk to her. Literally every time.

Is this a social thing? LOL :p

She's beautiful, look at her. She's a poop machine.

Parker does the same thing occasionally. I suspect it's because he's prepping to be picked up and held.

I agree with Chris... it's often a bird's way of preparing to fly or play or such.

I also agree with YOU... beautiful, beautiful bird! She has that coy little Princess Di half-smile, too.

Totally agree. Some birds don't give a poop about splatting on you, while others try to relieve themselves prior.

She is a real cutie! Maybe her way of saying "Hi" ?

My 2 does the same thing. Unfortunately for me I forgot to make sure she had gone before I reached in to the bottom of the cage yesterday. She dropped a long distance bomb from her balcony to my head. I needed a shower anyway.

Sometimes Molly will actually wait until I'm looking at her or in her direction to poop. It's interesting because she can tell when I'm thinking of getting her off her play stand or off her cage. It's like she is using the force...

This is awesome. I guess I'm not alone with Nigel then. He does his poo shuffle when I approach the cage, as if to say, "Now you may pick me up."

Yup, my husband calls my gcc, Sir Poops Alot. I tend to agree on the idea of them preparing to be picked up, but mine seems to enjoy pooping. My many poop shirts will attest to that!

Yep! But then again Parker goes into what we call a poop coma after he poops, a sort of afterglow where he becomes unresponsive to commands for like 10 seconds afterwards just staring off into the distance.

Such a man...😒

All of my birds do it. And so did 2 out of 3 of my past birds.
