My First 'Too

I feel so much better hearing someone else say that! Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about pets and names. I often get the feeling people think I'm more than a little crazy when it comes to my pets. Then again, how many people have SIX pets in a 2 bedroom house and not only names them all, but takes the time to find a suitable name? And isn't a hoarder? (Well, by most definitions. All pets here are vetted regularly, live cleanly and I don't have a bazillion of one kind!)

LOL at me justifying things.

People think I'm crazy, too. And these days I'm down to 2 horses, 3 birds and only 1 cat.

But, I've had up to 10 horses, 2 goats, 2 pigs, 4 dogs, at least one bird, and who knows how many cats with all the ones dumped here over the years. But, mine were also all clean, vetted and well fed. They were my life:) They still are, but I know I'm not up to taking care of so many now.

KatherineI , your in the right place, believe me.
I dont want to say how many animals I have :11: but they are all well cared for and loved. If one hasnt loved a animal , one hasnt loved at all , is that how that saying goes ? ;)
If it wasnt for my animals I would never had made it through many of the problems I have had in the past , that's for sure.
They lift your spirits and "make" you get out of bed in the morning when you feel there is no reason to. :D
So dont feel silly :)
:white1::white1:

Amen to that! I know if it weren't for my animals, I might not get out of bed in the morning.

Between my animals and my daughter, there is no excuse for me to lay in bed all day!!

Most likely going to see the baby today, hope to get some pictures to post later!

Meet... SUGAR!! We're naming her in homage to the original goffin that turned me on to the species. If it wasn't for the original Sugar, we probably wouldn't be bringing home this Sugar.

I WANT HER !! Please wrap her up and send her to the below address :)

She is adorable , OMG !! :07:
I need her , I cant take it anymore :headwall: :heart::heart:

Ok , I'm certifiable.

But she is simply the cutest. Great name , it suits her perfectly.
And it has a really "sweet" meaning TOO. My Yoshi is in love with her and wants to know when she gets older , can they have a playdate ? lolol

Thank you!! She is a doll. She was so over-stimulated yesterday, being a Saturday the store was overflowing with people coming in and out. She actually bit me, but it didn't leave any marks and I swear Loki has bitten me harder (I'm currently sporting what looks like vampire marks on my right forearm), so I took her to a small corner and let her decompress. That's when we got some good shots! And she started making happy noises and went from constantly being "on alert" to relaxing into calm "pet me" mode. Seems like she's going to handle the chaos that ensues when child and husband are home, but love the quiet downtime during the week days with me.

I can't wait to bring her home! If only I had won the Mega Millions :(

Yoshi gets the same way when new people come over. He will come to me but he gets stiff and is "on alert" like you said Sugar was.
I had the same result when I moved away from the other people , he relaxed but was still not himself. When he gets like that , I notice he will grab my finger but not really bite , it's like he is saying I just dont like this , I'm uncomfortable , get me outa here ! lolol.
I just take him to a corner and play step up and get him to relax a little , , then I put him back up on his cage and he will watch everybody closely for a while , then I saw him getting closer to one of my girlfriends , she was talking softly and not reaching out to him which I told all my visitors . He made his way over to her and my the end of the night she was scratching his head. I find that good progress for him.
Looks like Sugar is the same.... cute as a button :)

Glad she is enjoying your visits...I know ,it seems like forever...
But before you know it , she will be home :)

Oh , about the mega millions , yeah , me and you both !

beautiful bird lucky you. If i didn't have asthma i would get one in a heartbeat. enjoy and lots of years of cuddles. :D Alison and Sweetie Pie

Thanks again everyone.

So Hubs and I went to visit her today. He beat me there (the store is about 1/2 way between where he works and where we live, with a slight detour to the east) and went right to her. She apparently recognized him and didn't hesitate in the least when he asked her to step up for him. He was already walking around with her and according to him, Sugar heard my voice when I walked in and started to get all excited. When she saw me, she apparently started to shake with excitement. When I walked away to go look at something, she was doing everything she could to get to me, so finally he brought her to me and said "somebody wants you"

She spent the rest of our hour-long visit hopping from me to him, quite happily. She has a preference for Hubs because he's taller, but she's much more cuddly with me. She's also making more happy sounds around us. Hopefully she'll be comfortable enough with us by the time she comes home that her adjustment won't be too difficult.

I'm so excited for you :) She sounds awesome and you are right , she wont miss a beat when you take her home , believe me , you are her world now :)
