Rainbow Lorikeet
At the moment I have 4 beautiful Rainbow Lorikeets mother, father and 2 their babies boy and girl in 2 separed cages. I need help with one of my Lorie the mother ( 4 years old ) since she had two babies in different time one year apart she started about more then two years ago start to change feather color in dark green with lots black feathers and the head also change to dark to black too also I notice the beck change dark orange to orange whites color but she`s very active, happy and look healthy. It`s been the last 3 years like this. I should put some photos next time. But before bombard me with any negative comments yes call and to the vet nothing to worried about some reckon it`s a mutation genetic some not the vet think liver problem only blood test can say that but before that need some one who knows and can maybe help me. Welcome to the forums to you and your flock @Italianroo! Please do not be concerned about "negative comments" as that is not what we do here 🫶

If you are able to have your lori checked out by an avian vet that may be to your advantage. Black discolouration to the feathers can have a number of causes, and issues with liver and/or kidney function can be one of them - sadly it has happened to me.
