Rocky: lovebird
paapi: lovebird
Hi everyone!
This is my first post, hope you guys can help me out. :51:

I own two lovebirds.
Rocky has always been at the top of the pecking order. Paapi below or equal too him.

The last few days I’ve noticed both of them rubbing their beak on the cage bars and chewing them as if wanting to go out of their cage.

I give them plenty of cage time already nearly every day 3+ hours.

It seems as if their pecking order has switched around, only is Paapi more aggressive and more of a bully than Rocky can be.
Paapi chases Rocky away from toys, food etc.

To me it sounded like their cage was getting boring, so I put more toys in their cage today.
They play more but I still see Paapi being jeleous and wanting toys for himself.

What else can I do?
Do you experience pecking order switches in your flock too?

Looking forward to talking with all of you!:rainbow1::rainbow1:

Are they 2 males? How old are they? This sounds like hormonal behaviour but im not sure i hope others who are more specialized in lovebirds can help you out.

I’m convinced they are both male as they do their mating, behavior in the male way.
I got them from my sister, who has had then for a few years, unfortunately I’m terrible at math so I’m going to say 4+ years.

Hey you’re from Amsterdam? I’m a Dutchie too!

I am yeah glas to see another Nederlander here succes haha:)
