Rosie has informed me via her lawyer that the diva requires her own personal cage-trailer, make-up artist, chef and slave to entertain her and meet her every need - Im assuming thats me :09:

Chapter 2 is done!!!!

I want to say one thing, so you guys can understand. As much as you want me to write the book, and trust me I'm writing, I still have my other duties I need to attend to (school, homework, chores, the fids, friends, etc) So it gets pretty busy sometimes. I'll squeeze in whatever time I have to write the book. Hopefully I'll finish the book before New Years. Most likely I won't, but I'll try to. I want to take my time with it and thoroughly edit and write.

WOW! I have just finished reading this thread and I am soooo excited for you. I have a love for animals and all things related to them. I just finished watching How To Train Your Dragon, it was great! I want a dragon now. lol

I was just thinking of the information you have provided about your book so far and I just had a couple ideas. If you like them please use them as I would want the rest of the world to see this.

My first Idea is create a small low budget film on You Tube. This is to offer a trailer to the world and allow you to judge your story by how many views you will get. If this takes off then approach a movie place. This way you can prove that you have the intellectual property rights of the story. Also if you have a lot of hits then the proof is visible and the chances of you getting a deal are higher.

The second idea I have is pet licensing. This would require people to prove that they know and understand the requirements for pet ownership. This would help to decrease the 85% of re-homed birds in those first couple of years. Your story is right in line with this and I would just have a bad owner buy the bird and neglect it. Once the bird see's his opportunity he can escape. Save this for the second book.

I see your characters as the mascots for the pet trade. I would approach PIJAC.

With all the support you are receiving on this forum I am sure whatever you do will be a great success.

I really like the youtube idea after I write my book, but I have no programs, softwares, or experience on how to make it. lol. We'll see.

And I was actually planning to do basic bird education in my epilogue. Give a few statistics, etc. Maybe put the Parrot Bill of Rights in there.

Awesome! I truly believe it is the owners who should control the trade not the pet stores. In Ontario we OMVIC for buying cars. This is a group that control the dealerships.. Does PIJAC do the same for the pet trade?

I just think if all the forums joined together we could enforce proper care practices.

The only problem is who will enforce it. Reminds me about when I got my liscense. I drive nothing like I am supposed to. I guess I am the problem. With that said I will finsih my post.

AP - this is sounding great - goodie, goodie, goodie.

I would be wary of even thinking of putting any of this onto youtube because you cant patent your idea or protect it on youtube and anybody can get hold of it and use it to make a movie or series etc. If licensing is required it wouldnt be a problem Im sure - in SA I dont have to have licence to own a bird and if it is required anywhere else Im sure the members whose birds are included wont mind getting one????
