Forrest -Yellow sided Green Cheek Conure, Nacho- Sun Conure
Well this afternoon Nacho (he is not a stunt pilot like Forrest) flew into a door and evidently flew to the other side of the room and landed behind my corner computer desk, he came walking out and he seemed fine and I picked him up as he walked on the floor toward me, he played around on my desk....then sat on my hand, I was walking into the other room and noticed blood all over my hand. Horrified I began to check him over to no avail.....finally I noticed the outside edge of his wing had a damaged blood feather. I know I could have probably done it myself but having never pulled one out before we were off to the vet. I watched and learned (costly lesson) LOL........but anyway next time I will be able to do it if there is a next time. Just lucky he didn't break a wing. That boy needs a GPS.....

I wonder if all Sun Conure's are clumsy. Sunny (Mine) is very clumsy! My Jenday is a really good flyer when his wings are not clipped, but Sunny is so clumsy! She has done the same thing many times. And she is always breaking off her tail feathers too. I am glad Nacho is ok though.

I think they must be clumsy, he reminds of a little kid, he can stand up and fall down at the same time. LOL
I don't think he flew much at his other home, pretty much just sat on the cage and stepped up when they asked. Nothing stresses him out, the vet trip was a piece of cake, as soon as he removed the feather he flew to mommy. When we got home he went straight to his cage like "this is my safe spot".

Glad Nacho is ok. As pet owners I think we should have two numbers on speeddail. First the vet then a good psychiatrist for us. Pets can give us a nervous breakdown.
