So Acorn has developed a habbit of plucking my neck hairs when she is sitting on my shoulder. It is increadably painful. Any suggestions as to how to get her to stop?

Don't let her sit on your shoulder.

It is difficult. I have the same problem with my birds. I have a beard also that they like to preen. It's in their nature to preen the ones they love. I've come to accept it, and try to shoo them away if it gets too much. Just remember, they wouldn't do it if they didn't love you.

She's just tidying you up... :p

my teil and conure do it and boy does it hurt - try distract him

Could you wear some clothing that blocks that area of skin being plucked?
